    Tawny Owl

Managed to spot this young tawny owl in a local park while it was just still light enough to get some half decent pictures.

  • Anglesey

    Anglesey

We had a long weekend away in Anglesey, where I celebrated my 45th birthday. The wildlife was a bit elusive and we didn’t see any of the anticipated red squirrels, but we did see swallows, rabbits, kestrels, baby robins, and even a couple of puffins (from a distance!)

    Zoomies

The foxes were out again tonight, and running around like crazy things. It was a bit dark to get any good shots, but I did manage to get one of the mother (I think) and all 5 cubs at the same time. Here are a few better ones from the other night, when they were…

    More birds

A few recent birds, all from our garden, except the nuthatch, which was in a local park.

  • Greenfinches and friends

    Greenfinches and friends

Today was a good day for greenfinches, although they’re so yellow I’m not sure why they’re not called yellowfinches.

  • Birds and a bee

    Birds and a bee

Quite a few different birds around today: Blue tit, greenfinch, goldfinch, magpie, wood pigeon, and a juvenile blackbird. There were also plenty of sparrows and a juvenile goldfinch, but I didn’t get any decent pictures of them. One little fox cub ventured out in the middle of the day too, and was eyeing up some…
